Back
by popular demand in a new theatrical presentation:

Photo: Imperial War Museum, London
All
is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914
By Peter Rothstein, musical arrangements by Erick Lichte and Timothy
C. Takach
Presented by Cantus, Theater Latte Da and Hennepin Theatre Trust.
The Western Front, Christmas Eve, 1914. Out
of the violence of the Great War's trenches comes a silence, then
a song as a young German soldier steps into no man's land singing
Stille Nacht. Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie,
music, and peace. Cantus, Theater Latté Da and Hennepin Theatre
Trust present All
Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 by Peter Rothstein, with
musical arrangements by Erick Lichte and Timothy C. Takach. Through
new arrangements of European carols and war-songs, All Is Calm recalls
the remarkable World War I truce between Allied Forces and German
soldiers in no man's land on Christmas, 1914.

Bud! (Cantus with James Sewell Ballet)
Cantus and the James
Sewell Ballet premiere a new dance work with music by Minnesota’s
own Mary Ellen Childs.
From
jsballet.org:
"No one celebrates spring quite like a company
based in Minnesota. In honor of the great thaw, JSB puts some spring
their step with the earthy and beautiful Appalachia Waltz. Feisty,
award-winning composer Mary Ellen Childs reunites with James Sewell
in a World Premier where JSB dancers are instrumental in creating
the sonic environment composed by Ms. Childs. As a special treat,
nationally acclaimed vocal ensemble, Cantus, will sing live for
these performances! Closing the program will be Rings, presenting
a wide-angle view of our rich and varied history."
