Book CantusTouring Program
"Before Us"
(Please note that this program is a working draft and is subject to change)

In the 2010-2011 season, Cantus traces the immigrant journey in "Before Us." From setting sail, to finding a new home and embracing a new community, Before Us, explores how “we all come to look for America.” The program will include sets that trace the development of music through time and space, as it weaves itself into the fabric of American musical history. The program will include music by Jean Sibelius, William Billings, Leonard Bernstein, Simon & Garfunkel, and music from the Northern Plaines Indian communities, Canada, the work fields of the south, the old west, and of course, the American concert hall.
